What to do if a recall matches
- Compare the product name, pack size, batch or lot code and best-before date with the official notice.
- If it matches, don't eat it. Return it to the shop for a refund or throw it away, as the notice says.
- If someone with this allergy has eaten it and has symptoms, follow their allergy action plan. For signs of a severe reaction (difficulty breathing, swelling of the throat, collapse), use their adrenaline auto-injector if they have one and call emergency services.
- Products without an allergy warning can still be recalled for other reasons; check the notice for everything it covers.
