What Recall Atlas is
Recall Atlas (the website recallatlas.org and the Recall Atlas app) is an independent service run by Frostinn ehf. It gathers product, food, drug and vehicle recalls published by government agencies in 36 countries and shows them in one place. It is not run by, endorsed by or affiliated with any of those agencies, or with any manufacturer or seller.
Information is provided as is
Recalls are collected automatically from public government sources and may be incomplete, delayed, out of date or contain errors, both in the original source and in how they are copied, shortened, translated or categorised. Product categories, brand groupings, summaries and the "What to do" guidance are added by Recall Atlas, are general in nature and are not part of the official notice. Everything is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, express or implied, of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular purpose.
Always check the official notice
The official notice from the agency, manufacturer or seller is the only authoritative source. It has the exact models, batch codes, dates and remedy. Check it, and contact the manufacturer or seller, before you act. A product not appearing on Recall Atlas does not mean it is safe or has never been recalled.
Alerts and matches in the app
Alerts and "possible matches" are made automatically by comparing what you enter with recall notices. A match may be wrong, and a recall that affects you may not be matched at all, for example because a notice lacks model or batch details, because of how you described the item, or because a country or source is not covered. Alerts can be late or fail to arrive: they depend on the agencies publishing on time, on push delivery by Google and your phone, and on your settings such as quiet hours. Expiry and warranty reminders are based on general lifespans or dates you enter, not on the manufacturer's instructions for your item. The app does not replace registering products with their manufacturers or checking official sources yourself. Paying for Pro adds features; it does not change any of this.
Not professional advice
Nothing on the website or in the app is medical, legal or safety advice. If someone is unwell or injured, contact a doctor or your local emergency services. Do not stop taking a prescribed medicine without talking to a doctor or pharmacist. If you have a food allergy, always read the product label.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Frostinn ehf. and the people behind Recall Atlas are not liable for any loss, damage, injury or cost, direct or indirect, arising from use of, or reliance on, the website, the app, alerts or missing alerts, or linked websites, including errors or omissions in the information. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Trademarks and links
Brand and product names belong to their owners and are used only to identify recalled products; their use does not imply any connection with Recall Atlas. Links to official notices and other websites are provided for convenience, and Recall Atlas is not responsible for their content.
